Integrated interpretation of seismic and log data is a key element of GDS services.

All interpretation work is done using the state-of-the art techniques and solutions. We use both the leading commercially available and proprietary software tools.

Our trademarks are:

  • Tight integration of seismic data processing and interpretation
  • A wide array of quantitative interpretation tools and techniques
  • A universal and robust geological interpretation approach based on the concept of sequence stratigraphy
  • Close integration of geological and seismic data

This enables us to complete a variety of tasks, from structural interpretation during early exploration to detailed 3D modeling, to support production optimization. GDS staff is also experienced in research and development, test and pilot programs.

To develop depositional models of objective reservoirs, we tightly integrate seismic interpretation with an extensive set of geological techniques (biostratification, lithological and petrographic studies, fascies analysis, etc.). This approach greatly improves the reliability of seismic data interpretation.

Depositional and reservoir properties analysis based on detailed macroscopic and microscopic core studies, combined with log interpretation, forms a foundation for stratigraphic and seismic interval correlations, the development of facies maps and forecast of reservoir behavior around and between the proposed and existing wells.

Our seismic data interpretation process includes all conventional procedures, such as correlations between seismic intervals and well logs, reflector identification, structural interpretation, accuracy checks, and mapping.

The following techniques are employed to evaluate objective reservoirs:

  • Amplitude attribute analysis
  • Trace inversion
  • AVO-analysis
  • Seismogeological modeling
  • Geostatistics

GDS staff is experienced in interpretation of seismic data from surveys completed in a variety of geological and geophysical settings, onshore, offshore and in transition zones throughout:

  • Western Siberia
  • Eastern Siberia
  • Timan-Pechora
  • Pre-Caspian
  • Volga-Ural
  • Barents Sea
  • Kara Sea

Our company has accumulated a great deal of experience running multi-year projects, involving both land and marine 3D seismic surveys over a total area of several thousand square kilometers.
